Job Description Job Description Position: Shift In charge – E&A Maintenance (Cold Rolling Division) Location: Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar Department: Cold Rolling Division – Electrical & Automation Maintenance Role Purpose Responsible for ensuring smooth and reliable operation of electrical and automation systems within the Cold Rolling Division (CRD). The role involves preventive & predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment reliability, safety, and energy efficiency to support uninterrupted production. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Troubleshooting Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical and automation equipment in the Cold Rolling Mill. Troubleshoot PLC, drives, SCADA, DCS systems, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime. Ensure quick restoration of electrical systems during breakdowns to support production continuity. Equipment & System Management Maintain and optimize VFDs, control systems, and electrical panels for CRD equipment (e.g., pickling line, cold rolling mills, annealing & skin pass mills). Ensure calibration, upkeep, and reliability of instrumentation and field devices. Monitor and maintain energy distribution systems, motors, and sub-stations within the division. Safety & Compliance Implement and monitor adherence to safety standards in electrical and automation systems. Ensure compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements. Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spares. Continuous Improvement & Projects Drive initiatives for reducing equipment downtime, energy consumption, and maintenance costs. Participate in modifications, upgrades, and automation improvement projects. Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spares management. Team & Cross-Functional Coordination Provide technical support to operations teams for smooth running of equipment. Train and guide maintenance technicians/operators on best practices. Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to resolve interdisciplinary issues. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB, etc.), DCS, SCADA systems. Hands-on expertise in AC/DC drives, VFDs, instrumentation, and control systems. Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, protection devices, and energy management. Problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure, production-driven environment. Good communication and team coordination skills. Educational Qualification & Experience B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. 3–6 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Automation Maintenance in Steel / Rolling Mill / Process Industry. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reduction in breakdown frequency and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair). Achievement of PM/CBM compliance as per schedule. Reduction in equipment downtime and maintenance costs. Improvement in energy efficiency of electrical systems. Zero accidents and adherence to safety protocols.
