Position Title: Software Engineer – Visual Simulation System

FlightSafety International is hiring a Software Engineer to contribute to the development and support of their real-time Image Generator (IG) systems and visual simulation environments. This role provides the opportunity to work with the latest in aviation technology, contributing to the world’s largest fleet of advanced flight simulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Integration: Select, test, and integrate computer hardware components for real-time Image Generator systems.
- System Administration: Develop, document, and deploy installation, upgrade, and system administration procedures.
- Validation & Testing: Ensure proper IG performance by validating operating systems, component drivers, and application updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and communicate across departments to provide troubleshooting and end-user support.
- Prototyping: Design prototypes for new technologies and innovations.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct periodic audits of IG systems to ensure compliance with DoD requirements and industry standards.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Provide guidance on IT security measures and ensure systems adhere to emerging threats and corporate standards.
- Reporting & Recommendations: Regularly report to management and recommend improvements based on system performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows systems administration and network administration.
- Experience in system configuration automation and storage administration.
- Familiarity with Power Shell, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and system evaluation skills.
